CHAMPAIGN — A new "white glove" handyman business is set to begin serving Champaign and the surrounding region in a couple of weeks.
Ace Handyman Services East Central IL will open on Feb. 5, according to a Facebook post from the business.
Their offices will be located at 2441 Village Green Place, Suite D, in Champaign.
Office hours and craftsman hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, said owner Jerris Duncan.
"Get your to-do-list out, hire us for a couple of hours, and we'll do a multitude of things while we're there," he said.
The business's services will include small handyman jobs, such as repairs rather than remodels. Ace Hardware Corporate describes them as a "white glove home handyman service," Duncan said.
Additionally, if they are asked to do larger jobs outside their skillset, the office will work with other companies in town to provide service.
Duncan said that while Ace Hardware stores are co-ops, Ace Handyman Services locations are franchises. The stores and handyman offices work together, but the new handyman services location is not owned by the stores in this community.
According to Ace Handyman Services' website, there are about 10 franchises in Illinois, but most are located in Chicago and the surrounding area.
The local office's number is 217-729-0120, and it will go live on Jan. 29, Duncan said.
