Aces of Trades - Noelle Reif turned her love of coffee into a business with True North

LANCASTER — Noelle Reif loves coffee. In fact, she loves it so much she opened a new coffee house last year.

True North Coffee and Cafe is located at 637 E. Main St. Besides various coffees and coffee drink, True North also sells hot chocolate, smoothies, bottled drinks, sandwiches and baked goods. Reir said her favorites are iced vanilla coffee or her own house blend with cream.

Reif said business has gone well so far.

"We've had pretty good success and we've seen a lot of growth over the past year," she said. "It's been good."

Reif traveled through several states and few years ago and found some coffee spots she enjoyed, which gave her the idea for her own business.

"We didn't really have anything in Lancaster like that," she said. "So I wanted to have a place like that for the community that I could call my own. That's what inspired it."

The coffee house is the first business Reif has ever opened.

"My dad has a lot of experience in business so he helped me a lot," she said. "And we have a few business partners who have had their own businesses and they've helped me. And honestly, just God. He helped me a lot. He pushed me out of my comfort zone and it kind of all worked together."

For the future, Reif wants to have more events at True North.

"Like Food Truck Friday, a farmer's market," she said. "And we hope to maybe go mobile soon with catering and things like that. Those are kind of our short-term goals right now."

The coffee house also usually has live music two Saturdays each month in the summer.

Away from work, Reif enjoys shopping, being with family and friends. She also serves in the children's ministry at her church.

Reif enjoys coffee, of course, even when she's not working.

"It tastes really good," she said. "And now that I know how to make it, it's a really cool process. It's like a little cup of happiness. It's really good."
