Arkansas Colleges of Health Education has named fourth-year student Joshua Gaunt as Student Doctor of the Year for the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (ARCOM).

The award is given to a student who goes above and beyond the average osteopathic medical student, and is chosen by a campus committee comprised of ARCOM students, faculty and administration.

The winner at each college of osteopathic medicine across the country goes on to compete for the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine National Student Doctor of the Year award.

“Student Doctor Gaunt was nominated by his peers based on his leadership, commitment to community service, dedication to the profession, professionalism, and his embodiment of the Osteopathic Philosophy,” said Rance McClain, dean of ARCOM.
