Achiever: Mustang student receives OGE scholarship
OGE Energy Corp. Foundation Inc. recently recognized Adrianna Cheverie, now a Mustang High School graduate, as one of its 2022 OGE Positive Energy Scholars. As a Positive Energy Scholar, Adrianna will receive $15,000 per year, which is renewable annually for up to four years, for a total of $60,000 to cover tuition, books, fees and on-campus room and board.
OG&E officials surprised Adrianna with a parade of big orange trucks, a banner and a congratulatory certificate when awarding her the scholarship.
Adrianna intends to attend Oklahoma State University, where she plans to major in mechanical engineering.
“Adrianna is an honest, bright, motivated and hardworking student. I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this scholarship,” said Joanna Ritchie, Adrianna’s former teacher and Project Lead The Way instructor. “She is a natural leader who inspires others with her positivity and commitment to lifelong learning. I am so proud that she is being rewarded for her hard work and admirable ethic.”
In addition to her dedication to her studies, Adrianna participated in a variety of extracurricular activities throughout her time at high school, such as Key Club, a student-led service organization, Robotics Club and Engineering Club. In her free time, Adrianna enjoys ice skating, drawing, reading and spending time with her loved ones.
