Missing that secret ingredient for Grandma's carrot cake?

You might have to drive a bit farther as some Akron-area grocery stores are closed on Easter.

Like the handful of grocery stores, some retailers will be closed for the day.

Major retailers including Kohl's, JcPenney, Target and Best Buy are all closed on Easter.

Lowe's announced Friday that for the fourth year in a row it will close all of its store on Easter.

"I'm extremely proud of the commitment of our 300,000 associates who support our communities while providing excellent customer service not only in spring – but all year-round," said Marvin Ellison, Lowe's chairman and CEO, in a statement. "In recognition of our teams' continued hard work, we are pleased to provide a well-deserved day off so they can spend Easter with their loved ones."

The Summit Mall is closed for the day, while Walmart stores will be open on Easter.

Walgreens and CVS will be open.

What grocery stores are open on Easter in Akron?

Some Greater Akron grocery stores and retailers that offer grocery staples will be open on Easter. Some of these stores will operate on limited hours for the holiday.

  • Dollar General

  • Giant Eagle
