Sad news, Act Your Age fans–the Bounce TV series starring Kym Whitley, Tisha Campbell and Yvette Nicole Brown has not been renewed for a second season.

BlackFilmandTV.com posted the news on Instagram, citing Act Your Age’s creator Alyson Fouse.

Fouse wrote on social media about the show’s fate.

“I’m sorry to say that my show Act Your Age will not be returning to @bounce for a second season,” she wrote. “The first season will however be available on @netflix early next year. Thank you to everyone who watched and supported. It meant the world to us.”

Fouse agreed with a common sentiment throughout the replies to her tweet– the hope that the show may find a home somewhere else.

Brown also posted about the news.

The series, which lasted for 16 episodes, premiered this March and became “the most-watched half-hour series launch in Bounce history and the No. 3 new comedy of the season, alongside NBC’s Night Court and Lopez vs. Lopez,” according to BFTV. The series reached 2.14 million viewers in its debut.

The series followed along a formula that has been successful for other shows such as Girlfriends, Living Single and Harlem by following a group of friends as they negotiate the ups and downs of life. In Act Your Age, the group consists of three Washington D.C./Northern Virginia area women who are navigating their 50s.
