Activist: Sacramento's new police reform package is not enough

Black Lives Matter Sacramento leaders are calling the city's new police reform package toothless in the fight against systemic racism. "We keep getting the same kind of pacifying commissions and roles and departments that really don't make any change," BLM Sacramento founder Tanya Faison said Thursday. The approved plan creates an inspector general position for police oversight with the authority to investigate officer-involved shootings and use-of-force incidents that result in serious injury or death. The second major change would shift police response away from nonviolent 911 calls to a new unit staffed with mental health and social work professionals. Get the full story in the video above.
