“Friday Night Lights” lead actor Kyle Chandler rode his motorcycle from Central Texas to Corpus Christi to visit the all-time winningest Texas high school football coach on Thursday.

Chandler, who played Eric Taylor in the hit series which aired from 2006 to 2011, met with former Calallen football coach Phil Danaher and other Calallen coaches at Danaher’s home.

Calallen historian Steven Floyd and his wife, Shelly, arranged the meeting between Chandler and Danaher, according to a Facebook post.

Chandler received several award nominations for his role in the show and won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in the series in 2011.

Danaher announced his retirement in December, capping off a coaching career that spanned nearly 50 years.

Danaher concluded his coaching career with a 490-118-4 record, including 422 wins at Calallen.
