Actor Morgan Freeman was a guest on Thursday’s episode of “CBS Mornings,” and the discussion took a sharp turn.

Freeman was discussing his work as the narrator for the Netflix documentary “Life On Our Planet,” when he was asked about ... sports.

Co-host Gayle King said: “Let me ask you this before we go. I’ve heard from reliable sources — Wendy (Williams), the producer, — you’re a big Kansas City Chiefs fan. Is that true?”

Freeman responded simply: “Yes.”

Talk of the romance between Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and superstar singer Taylor Swift is nearly inescapable these days, and King wanted Freeman’s thoughts.

King asked: “So how are you feeling about Taylor and Travis? Is it keeping you up at night? Are you in favor? What are you thinking, Morgan Freeman, about this?”

Freeman, who won an Academy Award for his work on “Million Dollar Baby,” gave a great response.

“I ... don’t ... think about them… at all,” said Freeman, who is 86.

That drew a laugh from King and co-hosts Nate Burleson and Tony Dokoupil. Burleson, the former NFL wide receiver, said touchdowns and wins are more important.

Freeman agreed and he talked about Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

“It’s great to watch Pat run, you know, escape,” Freeman said. “He’s got a rifle for an arm, that’s all good. That’s what I’m interested in.”

That list of celebrity Chiefs fans just keeps growing. Over the past 18 months, an Emmy winner (Henry Winkler), Grammy winner (Taylor Swift) and Oscar winner (Freeman) have all shown their support for the Chiefs.

Here is the clip of Freeman, who has also starred in “Shawshank Redemption,” “The Dark Knight” and “Driving Miss Daisy.”
