Actor Sean Penn meets Zelenskiy in Kyiv
STORY: On February 24, Penn was in Kyiv attending a press briefing at Zelenskiy's on the first day of Russia's invasion, recording footage for a documentary chronicling the crisis.
Days later, Penn found himself among thousands of refugees fleeing to Poland, joining the exodus on foot.
Penn is producing the documentary on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine for Vice Studios, a U.S.-Canadian digital media and broadcasting company, according to Variety.
During their meeting on Tuesday (June 28), Zelenskiy thanked Penn his support for Ukraine, according to the presidential office.
For his part, Penn said he was willing to visit cities and towns affected by the war, the statement added.
