On Monday, Tech moved up three spots to No. 15 in the weekly poll of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. The other Big 12 teams in the poll are No. 21 West Virginia (29-11, 8-4), No. 24 Oklahoma State (28-13, 11-7) and No. 26 Texas (27-15, 8-7).

Abilene Christian is 25-14 and 10-8 in the Western Athletic Conference. The Wildcats dropped two of three over the weekend in a WAC series against UT-Rio Grande Valley.

Football

Texas Tech offensive tackle Jack Tucker, running back Clazarion Campbell and kicker Gabe Showalter announced Monday they're having their names entered into the NCAA transfer portal. Campbell and Showalter were on the team as walk-ons.

In addition, national college football writer Mike Farrell reported that Tech defensive end L.B. Moore has his name in the transfer portal.

Tucker signed with Tech out of Argyle for the class of 2021, redshirted that year and didn't get into a game as a redshirt freshman this past season. He had not cracked the two-deep in the Red Raiders' offensive line. The team's first-team tackles are returning starters Monroe Mills and Caleb Rogers, and the second-team tackles are Matt Keeler and Ty Buchanan, also returnees.

Moore, part of Tech's signing class of 2020 out of Amarillo Tascosa, redshirted in the first of his three years in the program. The past two seasons, he played in four games and was credited with two tackles.

Showalter joined the Red Raiders in January as a walk-on from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, where he made 8 of 10 field goals last season and earned NJCAA second-team all-America recognition.

Showalter made an extra point in Tech's spring game Saturday, but was behind Gino Garcia and Stone Harrington on the depth chart. Garcia made 3 of 3 field goals in the spring game, and Harrington made 2 of 2.

Campbell, a sophomore from Saginaw, carried four times for 20 yards in the spring game.

The NCAA established two transfer-portal windows: the first for 45 days beginning the day after College Football Playoff pairings are made in December and a second in the spring. The latter originally was set for May 1-15 and then changed from April 15-30.

Undergraduate players who want to transfer during the current window and be immediately eligible at their next school must have their names in the portal by April 30. There is an exception for graduate transfers, who can have their names entered into the portal at any time and be immediately eligible at a subsequent school.
