Ada County coroner identifies Boise man who died in two-vehicle collision

A 54-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-vehicle collision in Boise on Thursday morning, police said. The Ada County Coroner’s Office identified the man as Ian Stickler, of Boise.

The collision occurred on North Cloverdale Road and West Chinden Boulevard shortly after midnight, according to a news release from the Boise Police Department. The second driver, a woman, was transported to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The female driver, heading north on Cloverdale, and the male driver, heading east on Chinden, collided in the intersection, according to the news release. The speed and impact caused both cars to veer off the road and into a chain-link fence.

Stickler died as a result of multiple blunt force injuries and was the sole occupant of his vehicle, according to the Coroner’s Office.

Detectives with the Boise Police Department’s Crime Unit and Idaho State Police were the first to respond to the scene. The crash is under investigation.
