Ada County voters: See here who’s running in November 2023 elections in your city

In less than two months, voters across Ada County will pick new city council members, mayors, and more.

In Boise, voters will elect all council members by geographic district for the first time. Mayor Lauren McLean faces a challenger in Mike Masterson after her first term.

Meridian voters will elect their council members by district for the first time too. Mayor Robert Simison is running for reelection and faces challenger Mike Hon, who was the vocal leader of the Concerned Citizens of Meridian, the group that petitioned and later failed to dissolve the Meridian Library District.

Two incumbents, Brad Hoaglun and Liz Strader, will face off in City Council District 2.

In Garden City, one incumbent is running for reelection to the council. James Page faces challengers Kent Rasmussen and Hannah Ballfor an at-large seat.

Eagle voters will elect two at-large council members and a mayor. Incumbent Mayor Jason Pierce will face former mayor Stan Ridgeway, who lost to Pierce in 2019; and City Council President Brad Pike.

Here are the candidates who met Friday’s legal deadline for filing their candidacies in Ada County’s six cities — Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Kuna, Garden City and Star— and in school and other districts. All terms last four years unless otherwise specified.

This year, every Boise City Council member will be elected by new geographical districts. Even-numbered seats will be up for two-year terms, while odd-numbered seats will be up for regular four-year terms.
