Hattiesburg native Adam Doleac's debut album is making its way to record stores nationwide — something he's been looking forward to for a long, long time.

Doleac, 34, moved to Nashville nearly 10 years ago and has seen some success with his music. His song, "Famous," went gold in 2021 and he's appeared on stage in venues throughout the Music City, including appearances at the Grand Ole Opry.

Doleac also has more than 280 on-demand streams and 450,000 followers across his social media channels.

The country singer, who also had a promising career in baseball, has toured the country, backing artists including Zac Brown Band, Carrie Underwood, Kane Brown, Chris Young, Jessie James Decker and others.

Now it's his time to shine.

Doleac will be headlining his own tour in support of his new album.

The album and tour may have been a long time coming, but Doleac believes it was worth the wait.

“It's been tough, and we've had a lot of bad breaks, a lot of opportunities to give up for sure,” Doleac said in a news release. “But I haven't, and my guys haven't, and it's time for the moment to happen. It's like, ‘Maybe everything's coming together for this record. Maybe it's right on time.’”

"Barstool Whiskey Wonderland" on the Sony-Arista Nashville label will be in stores Sept. 30, but fans can preorder on Doleac's official merchandise website, adam-doleac.merchmadeeasy.com.

The album features 18 songs, most written or co-written by Doleac, including "Famous" and "Another," both of which have garnered No. 1s on SiriusXM's "The Highway."

“I am so excited to share my debut album, 'Barstool Whiskey Wonderland,' with the world," Doleac said. "So much time and hard work and life has gone into making this. This album shows all different sides of me and my music, and is really my own little ‘wonderland’ of all my favorite lyrics, titles and emotions. More than anything I wanted it to sound like me. I hope when people listen to it they think, This is Adam Doleac, and get to know me a little more with every song.”

"Barstool Whiskey Wonderland" includes Doleac's trademark love songs, but also tells new stories about broken hearts, breakups and good times, a news release said about the album.

In addition to making music and touring, Doleac also launched a Hattiesburg-centric line of ball caps and clothing called the Southern Made Collection, paying homage to his alma mater, the University of Southern Mississippi.

2021 a good year for Adam Doleac: Gold record and music played at College World Series

One shirt, "Key to the City," bears the title of a song Doleac wrote about his experience as a baseball player getting to play with the Golden Eagles in the College World Series in 2009. He performed the song at the 2021 College World Series, when the Mississippi State Bulldogs defeated Nashville's Vanderbilt Commodores to become the national champions.

"I wrote that song based off my experience as a former baseball player at Southern Miss and getting to play in the College World Series, so it was a really cool combination of my life back then coming together with my life now in the music world," Doleac said in an earlier story.

Southern Miss head baseball coach Scott Berry said Doleac would carry his guitar on the road so he could play when he had a little free time.

"Adam was a very talented player on the field, but you could tell that if baseball didn't work out, then a career on the music side was a possibility," Berry said. "We couldn't be more proud of him in the success he is having."

Berry said Doleac is someone who is driven to succeed. Before joining the baseball team, Doleac was a scratch golfer, meaning he was good at every aspect of his game. It's possible that he could have chosen golf as a career just as much as he could have chosen baseball or music.

"He was always one of those guys who was going to show you he could do it," Berry said.

Doleac appeared in concert Aug. 27 at Pearl River Community College in Poplarville. He will be back in the Pine Belt on Oct. 15 for a show at Southern Miss' Spirit Park.
