Adam Sandler to bring stand-up and song routine to Nationwide Arena in February

Veteran funnyman Adam Sandler, known for his slapstick humor and comical characters in blockbusters like "Happy Gilmore," "Billy Madison" and "The Waterboy," will come to Nationwide Arena for an evening of comedy and song on Feb. 7.

Tickets for the performance go on sale at noon on Friday at Ticketmaster.com and livenation.com.

The 56-year-old Sandler, who this year starred in Netflix's "Hustle," is also an accomplished writer, producer and musician. In March, he will be the latest comedian to be honored with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

Sandler was a cast member on "Saturday Night Live" from 1990 to 1995, becoming known for his original songs on the show, including "The Thanksgiving Song" and "The Hanukkah Song," as well as characters like Opera Man. From there, he went on to star in a steady stream of films that have grossed over $3 billion worldwide. He also has a distribution deal with Netflix.

Sandler's original films for Netflix are the Western comedy "The Ridiculous 6" and the dramatic family drama "The Meyerowitz Stories," for which the actor received favorable reviews from critics at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival. Variety film critic Peter Debruge wrote of the performance, "With no shtick to fall back on, Sandler is forced to act, and it's a glorious thing to watch."

Sandler also caught the attention of critics with his turn in the crime thriller drama "Uncut Gems," for which he won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead.
