Adam Sandler responds to Jennifer Aniston calling out his Uncut Gems snub at SAG Awards

This is how you win when you’re snubbed, if you’re Adam Sandler.

The actor may have been shut out of the Oscars and the SAG Awards, but he’s gotten plenty of love for his performance in the Safdie brothers’ Uncut Gems, especially from his Murder Mystery costar Jennifer Aniston.

Aniston gave him a shout-out during her acceptance speech Sunday night after she won Best Actress in a Drama Series for The Morning Show.

“Adam Sandler. Your performance is extraordinary and your magic is real, buddy. I love you,” she said.

Not long after, Sandler returned the love on Twitter. “Congrats to the great Jen Aniston for her SAG award and her just being the best,” he wrote, along with a photo of her onstage at the ceremony.

He also paid tribute to former Waterboy costar Kathy Bates recently when she received an Oscar nomination for Richard Jewell. “You was robbed!! But Mama loves you!!!” she tweeted back.

Despite audience and critical acclaim, Uncut Gems was ignored by the Oscars, Golden Globes, and SAG Awards. Sandler joked that if he didn’t get an Oscar nomination, he would make a movie “so bad on purpose just to make you all pay.” We hope he’s joking.
