ST. LOUIS – Adam Wainwright just wrapped up his career as a professional baseball player and is well into another one as a country music artist, but he’s not stopping there.

It turns out, it was hard to keep Uncle Charlie away from baseball for long.

Wainwright has joined the broadcast team at FOX Sports as a full-time MLB analyst.

FOX Sports says Wainwright will join the call for a “full slate regular season and postseason games,” including this year’s MLB World Tour Series in London. He joins the broadcast team on a multi-year deal, beginning with the 2024 season.

“I’m excited to join the FOX Sports family,” said Wainwright via a press release. “I love the game of baseball, and I really enjoy talking about the chess match that goes on between the pitcher and the hitter. Hopefully, my experience on the field will allow me the opportunity to share the game I love in a unique and deep way, bringing viewers closer to the game.”

“His connection not only to fans in St. Louis but really across the entire sport is what makes him a perfect fit at FOX Sports,” said Brad Zager, the president of production and operations at FOX Sports. “As he transitions to the next phase of his career, we are looking forward to him entertaining and educating viewers from the booth all season long.”
