A $6.2 million makeover is in the works for a former Florida Blue office complex on Jacksonville’s Southside.

Adecco employment services is going to overhaul three floors of the building at 4800 Deerwood Campus Parkway, according to construction permits approved by the city this month.

Adecco is an employment company that matches workers with businesses seeking to hire temporary employees along with other human resources services. The business is moving into the Deerwood campus that once housed several operations for Florida Blue insurance. The company is currently at 10151 Deerwood Park Blvd. across the way.

The renovation will cover the first, fifth and sixth floors of the building — about 90,000 square feet of space combined. Much of the work will involve new office layouts, partitions, mechanical, plumbing and other upgrades.

Danis Builders LLC is the contractor.

Adecco Group North America is based in Jacksonville with about 500 employees here. The company was listed in the top 35 employers in Jacksonville, according to Times-Union reports.

The company was founded in Zurich, Switzerland, which remains its world headquarters.

Sportsman's Warehouse coming

A prominent sporting goods store is coming to Jacksonville's Northside.

Sportsman's Warehouse secured building permits for interior renovations to a building at River City Marketplace.

It will cover about 40,000 square feet for the new store at 13075 City Square Drive. The building is owned by Ramco Jacksonville Annex LLC, and the cost of the overhaul will run about $2.1 million, according to the city building permit.

Utah Cameron Construction is the contractor.

Sportsman’s Warehouse has 125 stores across the United States, according to its website. The retailer focuses mainly on outdoor sporting equipment and hunting gear and apparel.
