Adidas outlet store returns to Tanger Outlets
HOWELL TWP. — Adidas has returned to its previous storefront at Tanger Outlets in Howell.
Adidas vacated the storefront at 1475 N. Burkhart Road in 2020 — but the international sportwear and shoe retailer's location reopened earlier this month with a new look.
Adidas temporarily closed all store locations in March 2020 due to the the pandemic, but the closure at Tanger Outlets Howell was planned beforehand, said Tanger Outlets Howell Spokesperson Kevin De Ceuninck.
Adidas did some "significant updating" to the store before reopening, De Ceuninck said.
On Friday, Sept. 22, the store was stocked with sneakers, t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants and leggings.
When Adidas put up their window graphic, the mall started getting two or three calls a day, De Ceuninck said.
"I would say people have been clamoring for an Adidas store again."
After the retailer vacated in 2020, the mall leased the space to temporary pop-up store Go! Calendars, Toys and Games, which moved to another suite and is open.

De Ceuninck expects three or four new stores to open at the mall before the winter holiday season.
"I can't share names, but as many as four new brands," he said. "And they aren't national brands. These are smaller stores or pop-up shops we had previously. One is a local start-up."
De Ceuninck said there are a few vacancies, and the outlet mall is always looking to expand offerings.
"We would love to add home furnishings, more food and beverage options."
