LAFAYETTE, Ind. — As of Tuesday, Food Finders Food Bank Fresh Market will move to its summer hours of operation.

Beginning Tuesday, the Fresh Market will open at noon and close at 5 p.m.

"The pantry schedule has been restructured to remain open the same number of hours per week by opening an hour early and adjusting the afternoon shift – the one consistently hard to fill – to close at 5 p.m.," the release said. "Saturday hours will remain the same."

Normal hours of operation will begin after Labor Day in September when, historically, the number of volunteers at Food Finders stabilizes.

Listed under "why" Food Finders has changed their hours: the food bank has not been able to recruit the number of volunteers needed to operate the pantry in the afternoon shift.

"The food bank has not been able to recruit the number of volunteers needed to keep the pantry open for the afternoon shift on a consistent basis," the release states. "Despite best efforts, they continue to have too few to manage the pantry in the evening."
