Adobe Theater starting new year with silent auction, cabaret

Dec. 24—The Adobe Theater is offering a cabaret, complete with performances, food, drink and a silent auction just in time for New Year's Eve.

A benefit to help fund operating costs, the festivities open at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31.

The black-tie-optional event includes hors d'oeuvres provided by Scott Sharot, drinks (with/without alcohol), and a performance by two local artists: Lorri Layle Oliver and Phillip J. Shortell, accompanied by pianist Joel Gelpe.

The auction items include jewelry, pottery, painting, cooking classes and photography sessions, as well as tickets to the Santa Fe Opera, Albuquerque Little Theatre and Musical Theatre Southwest.

The $50 tickets will help cover soaring costs for materials, supplies and rent for the 65-year-old theater serving Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and Corrales.
