Adoptable animal: Carlisle the cat wants to be your guy

Update: Carlisle has been adopted.

At some point in his life, somebody loved Carlisle.

Superficially, it’s not hard to see why. This handsome and talkative blue-eyed boy with snowshoe markings is striking among cats.

Brought in as a stray, Carlisle’s caregivers at the Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley quickly realized he was special and asked if I would take in this 12-pound hunk of a cat as an “office foster.” How could I resist?

Not content with merely being admired, Carlisle shatters the myth of feline aloofness. He loves company, and snoozes serenely next to you on your desk, rousing himself now and again to make sure you’ve been working and then beseeching you with a throaty meow to take a break for belly rubs and head nuzzles. After that it’s time for lapsitting and a cuddle.

Carlisle’s social and confident nature will delight a guardian who truly wants to bond with a feline companion. Are you his perfect human match? Call the Animal Services Center (575-382-0018) to schedule a “social” with Carlisle (43783) and find out.
