Adorable Adoptable Pets From The SPCA Of Anne Arundel County

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — While coronavirus continues to dominate the news, a fresh, furry story is just what people need. Here are this week's adorable adoptables from the SPCA of Anne Arundel. Each pet is looking for a forever home.

Cody Boy loves treats and is very good at sitting for them. He is said to especially like watermelon and carrots for a snack. Huskies tend to be stubborn, so an adopter with husky experience would be preferred. Cody Boy is crate trained, but can be protective of his food and his space especially around small kids and other dogs. He would do best in an adult-only home.

Mocha Joy is a 4-year-old German Shepherd. She has a beautiful dark coloring and the most adorable ears. Mocha Joy is very smart and already house-trained. She needs an adopter who will continue to work with on leash manners. If you would like to meet Mocha Joy, please submit an application.

Sweet Rocky found himself homeless when his family had to move. He is a friendly and happy boy who enjoys attention and a nice walk. Rocky is 8 years old but still young at heart. He is a tried and true family companion and is hoping to get back into a home again soon.

Luna Lola is just as a true joy. This senior little lady loves to be petted, picked up and cuddled. She may be 12 years old but she is still spry enough to hop into your lap. She lives for attention and gives great hugs. She likes to follow people around and is a staff- and volunteer-favorite.

The SPCA of Anne Arundel County has adjusted its visitation policy because of coronavirus, but "staff and volunteers are still at the shelter to socialize the animals, feed them, medicate them and give them the level of care and love that the SPCA is known for," shelter director Kelly Brown said.

Services that require appointments include:

  • Adoption

  • Visitation

  • Animal surrender

  • Euthanasia

  • Cremation

The SPCA is still accepting donations of new and unopened pet supplies, but donors must call ahead to get permission. Call (410) 268-4388 to make an appointment.

A list of all adoptable animals is available here. Prospective adopters can download an application at this link. Once completed, potential pet owners should email the application to adoptions@aaspca.org.
