The Arizona Department of Transportation will begin its "Roadwork Roundup" Monday night, aiming to improve interstates and highways across the Valley.

The department advised drivers to plan ahead, drive at lower speeds in works zones and proceed with caution around construction personnel and equipment.

Interstate 10, Buckeye

Details: Overnight ramp closures on I-10 and lane restrictions on Palo Verde Road in Buckeye beginning Monday, Jan. 2. Closures will start at 8 p.m. each night and will reopen at 5 a.m. the following morning all week until Friday, Jan. 6.

  • Westbound I-10 off-ramp at Palo Verde Road (Exit 109) closed

    • 8 p.m. Jan. 2 to 5 a.m. Jan. 3

    • 8 p.m. Jan. 3 to 5 a.m. Jan. 4

    • 8 p.m. Jan. 5 to 5 a.m. Jan. 6

  • Westbound I-10 on-ramp at Palo Verde Road (Exit 109) closed

    • 8 p.m. Jan. 3 to 5 a.m. Jan. 4

    • 8 p.m. Jan. 4 to 5 a.m. Jan. 5

Suggested detours: ADOT advised using Hassayampa Road (Exit 103) and Miller Road (Exit 114) as alternate I-10 on- and off-ramps. A 14-foot vehicle width restriction will be in effect.

U.S. 60 Grand Avenue, Morristown

Details: Westbound U.S. 60 (Grand Avenue) will be reduced to one lane on Wednesday, Jan. 4, between mileposts 124 and 122 (two miles south of Morristown) for guardrail repair. A 12-foot vehicle width restriction will be implemented during this time.

When: 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., Jan. 4

Suggested detours: Oversized vehicles are able to use westbound State Route 74 as an alternate route.

U.S. 60 Grand Avenue, Sun City

Details: The westbound lanes will be restricted at night along Grand Avenue (U.S. 60) between Dysart Road and Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) for pavement replacement starting Tuesday, Jan. 3 until mid-January. Crews will be working

When: Nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., from Jan 3 through Jan. 19

U.S. 60 Superstition Freeway, Phoenix area

Details: Overnight closures will take place on the U.S. 60 (Superstition Freeway) in segments between Loop 101 and Loop 202 for pavement rehabilitation beginning Friday, Jan 6.

  • Eastbound U.S. 60 between Loop 101 and Dobson Road closed

    • 9 p.m. Jan. 6 to 5 a.m. Jan. 9

  • Nightly lane restrictions along westbound U.S. 60 between Greenfield and Gilbert roads

    • 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Jan. 11 to Jan. 13

  • Eastbound U.S. 60 between Loop 101 and Mesa Drive closed

    • 9 p.m. Jan. 13 to 5 a.m. Jan. 16

Interstate 17, Phoenix

Details: Daytime restrictions and closures are scheduled for I-17 in Phoenix beginning Wednesday, Jan. 4. Restrictions are expected as part of the ongoing I-17 Intelligent Transportation System Infrastructure Installation Project.

  • Southbound I-17 off-ramp at Thomas Road right-lane restrictions between North 25th Drive and Thomas Road from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 4

  • Southbound I-17 off-ramp at Glendale Avenue center lane restriction from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 5

  • Northbound I-17 on-ramp at Bell Road left lane restriction from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 9

    • Left turns from eastbound Bell Road to northbound I-17 restricted to one lane

  • Northbound I-17 on-ramp at Union Hills Drive restricted to one lane from 8 a.m. to 5 pm. Jan. 10

  • Southbound I-17 between Greenway Road and Northern Avenue closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Jan. 6 to Jan. 9, and Jan. 13 to Jan. 16 for pavement resurfacing.

    • Southbound I-17 on-ramps at Yorkshire and Union Hills Drives and Bell Road also closed

    • East and westbound Loop 101 on-ramps to southbound I-17 closed

    • Southbound frontage roads closed:

      • Union Hills Drive to Bell Road

      • Greenway Road to Thunderbird Road

      • Cactus Road to Dunlap Avenue

Suggested detours: ADOT suggests exiting ahead at the closure and using routes to enter eastbound Loop 101 to access southbound State Route 51 to reach downtown Phoenix and Sky Harbor. Additionally, southbound I-17 traffic can detour on southbound 19th or 35th avenues.
