Adrian College's Robinson Planetarium has 'Star Talk and Seeing' program in September
ADRIAN — Adrian College’s Robinson Planetarium has set its September program schedule, and the first full dome show of the month is at 7 p.m. today.
“Star Talk and Seeing” is the title of September’s show, a news release from Adrian College said. It is appropriate for people of all ages. The show begins at 7 p.m. weekly on Fridays in September — Sept. 9, 16, 23 and 30. All Robinson Planetarium programs are free and open to the public. Each program lasts approximately 50 minutes, the release said.
“Star Talk” will take a look at the fall constellations in Michigan’s sky, the release said. Zodiac constellations Taurus the bull and Gemini the twins and the summer triangle still high in the sky, Lyra, Cygnus and Aquila, will be examined during the weekly shows.
The planetarium’s full dome show "Seeing" will follow the journey of a single photon as it is produced in a distant star before traveling across the expanse of space to land on someone’s retina, the release said.
“This full dome planetarium show explores some of the fascinating processes of the cosmos, from astrophysics to the biology of the eye and brain,” the release said.
The show is narrated by astronomer and science communicator Neil deGrasse Tyson.
There will also be a brief look at the new NASA moon and Mars human launch program, Artemis, which could launch later this month.

The Robinson Planetarium is at the eastern end of Peele Hall, on the corner of Charles and Williams streets on Adrian College's campus. Lawn signs will be posted, the release said, to guide visitors to each week’s planetarium show.
