Adult Swim has released a new teaser video for its upcoming “Rick and Morty: The Anime” series.

What it shows: Released on Tuesday, the teaser briefly shows Rick Sanchez (Yōhei Tadano) speaking to Morty Smith (Keisuke Chiba) while they stand on an alien planet. Rick tells Morty, “Despite the fact there are an infinite number of path available to us, we only get one life to pick from. It’s pretty dumb, huh?”

“And the dumbest part of it all is that we’re the ones who chose it for ourselves,” he continues before taking a swig from his flask and staring at the glowing tube he is holding. “At least in my case, anyway.”

The teaser came a month after Adult Swim released another video showing Rick crossing paths with another version of himself in a parallel universe.

About the series: Rick and Morty: The Anime,” which will arrive with 10 episodes, was first announced in May 2022, with its first look unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con in July of that year. The show will reportedly serve as a continuation of the overarching plot of the mainline series with new stories in each episode.

The show is produced by Telecom Animation Film and directed by Takashi Sano, who has also helmed two anime shorts in the show’s universe, “Rick and Morty vs. Genocider” and “Summer Meets God (Rick Meets Evil).”
