JACKSONVILLE BEACH | Fans of Adventure Landing have at least one final summer to soak up the sun and fun at the Jacksonville Beach waterpark before it closes for good.

Opened in 1995, the Jacksonville Beach amusement park offers Shipwreck Island water park, a go-kart track, arcade, laser tag, miniature golf, batting cages and a youth roller coaster.

A developer's plans to replace the 22-acre amusement park at 1944 Beach Blvd. with a 427-unit luxury apartment complex pending approval from Jacksonville Beach have been pushed back three times.

Originally, Adventure Landing faced an Oct. 21, 2021 closure deadline. Since then, the rescheduled closure dates of Dec. 31 and March 31 have come and gone.

According to the park's website, its Shipwreck Island water park is scheduled to be open through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 5.
