Advocate Lutheran General employee struck by car outside hospital Tuesday

An employee of Advocate Lutheran General Hospital is receiving medical care after being hit by a car near Luther Lane and Dempster Street, Park Ridge Police said Tuesday.

In a statement, police said a black Kia was driving northbound on Luther Lane when it struck the employee, who was crossing the street near a hospital entrance. The driver stopped and stayed at the scene of the accident, police said.

Luther Lane is a north-south street, with Advocate Lutheran General Hospital on its east side and a hospital parking garage and other hospital facilities on its west side.

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital’s President Dia Nichols said in a statement that the hospital could not provide further details about the victim.

“We are deeply saddened by the accident that occurred this morning, and our thoughts and prayers are with the teammate who was involved,” she said.
