Ady Kircher joins list of weapons for Northeastern girls basketball; other Wayne County sports results
RICHMOND, Ind. — Northeastern girls basketball fans know what Addisen Mastriano can do. They know what Ava Mikesell can do. They know what Juztice Slick can do. After last week, it’s time to add freshman Ady Kircher to the Knights’ list of serious weapons.
'Earn the hype':Mastriano, Mikesell lead Northeastern, Dudley to first win after slow start
Kircher has started every game for the Knights this season and, after a slow start to her high school career, has found her groove. In a 51-38 win over Union County Tuesday, Kircher led Northeastern with 14 points, six rebounds and three steals. Three days later, she turned it up against Union City with 17 points, six rebounds and six steals.
Mastriano did her thing, recording a double-double in each game. She had 11 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks Tuesday and 16 points, 16 rebounds and six blocks Friday.
Mikesell and Slick also had a solid week. They each dropped eight points and combined for five steals against Union County. Mikesell had 13 points, six assists and five steals against Union City, and Slick added 15 points.
Northeastern is now 3-2 on the young season and the only Wayne County team with a winning record. If those four players keep having these types of performances, the Knights will win a lot of games this season.
