Aer Lingus will resume service to Bradley International Airport in March

Aer Lingus, the Irish airline that ushered in a new era of transatlantic service to Bradley International Airport in 2016, will resume daily nonstop service at the state’s largest airport in March, the strongest sign yet that business air travel is returning after the pandemic, it was announced Thursday.

Aer Lingus suspended its service at Bradley as the pandemic curtailed most business travel, a significant customer base for Aer Lingus at Bradley.

The service to Dublin with connections to 28 destinations in the United Kingdom and Europe will resume March 26 and will operate seasonally through October for 2022. The airline will then evaluate passenger traffic and determine when service will resume year-round.

Tickets for Aer Lingus flights from Bradley went on sale Thursday. Roundtrips to Ireland start from $459 and to Europe, from $659. The fares include taxes and charges.

“Bradley is a key economic driver for our state, and the more airlines and destinations that we can add from the airport, the more attractive Connecticut becomes to companies that are seeking to grow their own operations here,” Gov. Ned Lamont said, in a statement. “I am glad to welcome Aer Lingus back to Connecticut.”

Kevin A. Dillon, the executive director of the Connecticut Airport Authority, said resuming the Aer Lingus route “has been a major priority in our recovery strategy.”

“We look forward t rebuilding the service, continuing the strong momentum it had prior to the onset of the pandemic and bringing back easy and quick transatlantic access with an award-winning airline.”
