AEW announcer Tony Schiavone has revealed that the company has signed the eight-year-old son of Brodie Lee to a contract.

Lee (whose real name Jon Huber) tragically passed away last week at the age of 41 following a battle with a lung issue, leaving behind wife Amanda and sons Brodie and Nolan.

Speaking on the 'What Happened When' podcast with Conrad Thompson, Schiavone recalled how, recently, Lee's son Brodie had been brought to an AEW taping where he signed a contract.

"They had brought little Brodie to TV who is just — wrestling is his life and he’s eight-years old, he really is a great kid," Schiavone said.

"They made him a member of The Dark Order, they put a mask on him, he came out with a kendo stick, he beat up a lot of people and this was of course is a TV taping, nobody in the audience.

"They signed him to a contract, legitimately signed him to a contract. When he gets of age, he'll be with AEW and they’ve just taken care of him and he follows guys around all the time in the back and he becomes a part of us.

"He gets involved with the guys and sits at the Gorilla Position and comes out sometime with the mask on and does some crazy things and it’s just — it just shows you how the roster loved Brodie and how we are family."

After AEW taped the Holiday Bash episode earlier this month, Brodie Jr took part in a dark segment where he made Kenny Omega tap out and was announced as the new AEW World Champion.

Tonight (December 30), AEW will celebrate the life and career of Lee with a special edition of Dynamite.

The show will feature a series of matches in Lee's honour, including Brodie Jr's favourite wrestlers Cody, Orange Cassidy and The Dark Order's 10 teaming up to take on Team Taz.

AEW Dynamite airs Thursdays at 1am on Fite TV in the UK and on Fridays at 11pm on ITV4.
