AEW's Ricky Starks on his "one criticism" of cinematic match with Sting

At AEW Revolution 2021, Ricky Starks teamed with Powerhouse Hobbs to take on Darby Allin and Sting in a very unusual match.
In the midst of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, both AEW and WWE tried their hands at producing something different, with cinematic matches becoming wrestling's newest trend. Starks's match at Revolution was one of the best examples of the genre, taking place in a warehouse and filled with spectacular stunts and creative spots.
Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy ahead of this year's Revolution, Starks described what it was like to work with the legendary Sting — who, at the time of the match, was 61 years old and hadn't wrestled in over five years.

"That was one of the coolest things I've ever done, honestly," Starks said. "I think, to do it working with Sting was just mind-blowing. Still is mind-blowing."
He added: "The fact that this was a person of that caliber and it's his first match back in basically six years at the time, coming back and doing a cinematic match and doing it way better.
"I still believe it's one of the it is the best cinematic matches in wrestling. I don't care what anyone says."
Starks went on to explain why he enjoyed working with Darby, someone who's known for their creativity.
"It was great to work side-by-side with Darby because I'm making my own vignettes, Darby makes his own vignettes too, and it was good to have that collaboration," he said.
"I definitely collaborated with my ideas and he collaborated with his ideas, etc, etc, on making sure that was the best thing that all of us collectively could put out there."
However, Starks does have one criticism of the match: "My only criticism of that entire match is just, I wish there was no commentary over it.
"I just wish they'd didn't have commentary over. But that's okay. It still is within itself, and I believe you can actually buy the DVD of that pay-per-view and there is no commentary."
