Afghan women protest, want democratic government

Women who worked in government and non-government agencies gathered to express concerns of their rights, as well as how they will be represented in the government that is to be formed, reported local news agency Tolo news.

Taliban leaders have made reassurances in the build-up to and aftermath of their conquest of Afghanistan that girls and women would have the right to work and education, although they have come with caveats.
