Classic '90s show Are You Afraid of the Dark? is coming back to TV as a miniseries, so prepare to relive your childhood nightmares all over again.

Nickelodeon is reviving the anthology show alongside the previously-announced new movie, which follows the members of the Midnight Society.

The new miniseries will feature the latest members of the group as they once again gather round a campfire at a secret location and tell scary stories.

Each episode of the original followed a different story, such as 'The Tale of the Twisted Claw', and was enough to keep us awake at night in our childhood beds, so here's hoping it spooks another generation.

The series is set to launch in October on Nickelodeon, which coincides with the release of the new movie from IT screenwriter Gary Dauberman.

As well as Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Nickelodeon has announced a spate of other commissions too, including a revival of sketch show All That with Kenan & Kel and Saturday Night Live star Kenan Thompson.

There are also potential spin-offs for SpongeBob SquarePants in the works at the network, which sound very exciting.

The Are You Afraid of the Dark? movie is set for release on October 11, while the series is yet to confirm a premiere date.
