The ability of Chicago aldermen to hold down outside jobs would be sharply curtailed under a proposed ordinance. Ald. Andre Vasquez, 40th, is taking another stab at the measure that was sidelined last term that would bar him and City Council colleagues from holding outside jobs.

“I struggle to think how anyone takes care of their ward and votes on city issues the way we do and does it in a part time manner,” Vasquez told the Tribune.
