Ag Tire Roundup set for Nov. 19

An Ag Tire Roundup is scheduled for 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Wayne County Fairgrounds.

Cost is $1 per tire 36 inches in diameter and under; $5 per tire for 37-60-inch tires. Tires larger than 60 inches will not be accepted. Up to 36-inch tires include implement tires, wagon tires, skid loader tires and 4-wheeler tires. Tire 37-60 inches include most rear tractor tires (no tracks).

The event is only open to Wayne County farmers, and there is a limit of 50 tires per farm.

Pre-registration is required by calling the Wayne County Farm Bureau office at 330-263-7456.

The registration window is Oct. 3-28 or until space runs out. Tires will not be accepted from those who do not have a confirmed registration and time slot.

Prohibited items include tires on the rim, car tires and small truck tires. Wayne County Health Department has an existing disposal program for those tires.

This event is made possible through a community collaboration between Wayne County Farm Bureau, Wayne Soil and Water Conservation District, OSU Extension, Stark-Tusc-Wayne Recycling District, Wayne County Health Department and the Wayne County Fairgrounds.
