Agent Boras says 'number of clubs' interested in Keuchel

Free agent left-hander Dallas Keuchel's representatives are "in discussion with a number of clubs," agent Scott Boras told MLB Network on Friday.

Boras said Keuchel, the 2015 American League Cy Young Award winner, is throwing simulated 95-pitch games every five days so that he'll be ready to step into a team's rotation when he signs.

Keuchel compiled a 76-63 record in seven seasons with the Houston Astros. He pitched in 192 games (183 starts) and has a lifetime 3.66 ERA with 945 strikeouts in 1,189 1/3 innings.

Keuchel is believed to be waiting for a team to offer at least a five-year contract, but teams apparently have been unwilling to sign a 31-year-old for that long.

MLB Network's Jon Heyman tweeted earlier this week that Keuchel "remains committed to waiting for the right offer. Seems to be as tough off the mound as he is on it."
