Agents of SHIELD star Clark Gregg responds to Disney boss' Marvel TV complaint

Avengers and Agents of SHIELD actor Clark Gregg has responded to Disney CEO Bob Iger's complaint about Marvel TV shows.

Iger, who recently returned as the head of the House of Mouse after previously leading the mega-corporation between 2005 and 2020, gave some quotes this last week about why the superhero franchise's latest projects are underperforming.

"[Marvel] had not been in the TV business at any significant level," he said. "Not only did they increase their movie output, but they ended up making a number of television series, and frankly, it diluted focus and attention. That is, I think, more of the cause than anything.

Gregg, who led Agents of SHIELD between 2012 and 2020 (all during Iger's initial tenure as CEO), responded to a Variety tweet containing the quote with a simple "Bro..."

His telling tweet showed his discontent at how the likes of Agents of Shield, Runaways and other pre-Disney+ Marvel shows were seemingly ignored by Iger when referencing Marvel's TV history.

The Agent Coulson actor also spoke to TheWrap this week following the announcement of the SAG-AFTRA strike, explaining that he specifically wants to fight against Hollywood's proposed use of AI-generated performances.

He said: "When you do a, let's just say a genre movie, maybe in a superhero universe, there are intense scans done of you all over, and you know, at some point, they're probably going to be able to replicate you.

"That needs to be with your permission, your consent, your involvement... we’re not just information to be fed into a computer. That’s not what humanity is for."
