Aiding Ukraine corresponds with US national interests, CJCS Milley says
Both China and Russia have the means to threaten U.S. national security, he noted.

"But war with either (Russia or China) is neither inevitable nor imminent," Milley said.
He added that it would be very difficult to wage war simultaneously with both Russia and China.
"There is nothing more expensive than fighting a war,” the general said.

“And preparing for war is also very expensive, but fighting a war is the most expensive. Preparing for war will deter that war."

Milley also stressed that security assistance to Ukraine must continue, as it aligns with U.S. national security interests.
