Sep. 11—Authorities are investigating the death of a 3-year-old in Jackson.

Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables said around 9:30 p.m. Sept. 10, Aiken County Emergency Medical Services responded to a report of an unresponsive child at an Ellen Drive residence.

Ables said EMS took the child, identified as Riley Scott, to Children's Hospital of Georgia where she was pronounced dead.

The Aiken County Sheriff's Office and coroner's office are investigating. An autopsy is planned for Tuesday morning.
