Air Canada Blasted By Harry Potter Actor For Ripping Up His First Class Ticket

This isn’t Air Canada’s first rodeo with drama, and one young actor isn’t exactly giving them high marks.

Matthew Lewis, who played Neville Longbottom in all of the Harry Potter films, vented his frustration with the airline on Twitter.

He left no room for ambiguity when he tweeted, “Air Canada is the worst airline in North America. And that’s saying something.”

Lewis explained that he was supposed to fly from First Class from Orlando to Toronto. When he arrived at the gate, an Air Canada agent ripped up his ticket in his face and told him the flight was full.

“I’ve been bumped before,” wrote Lewis. “Comes with the territory. But at the gate, less than two minutes to boarding and without explanation or apology? Never. They even said if I wanna complain or get a refund I have to reach out to them!”

When Lewis demanded to know what could be done, the agent told him to go to customer service…..in Toronto.

He’s aware that overbooking is a common problem, but believes the practice must change.

“I think it’s a ludicrous policy that we’ve inexplicably normalized but it is what it is,” he tweeted. He used even more colorful language in a statement to CTV News Toronto.

“Air Canada’s customer service is s**t,” he said. “And we as a society should not be okay with normalizing the profiteering of overbooking and kicking people off flights.”

On Twitter, Air Canada asked Lewis to send them a direct message so the problem could be rectified. The airline issued no specifics to CTV News Toronto other than saying the matter was under review.
