Air Force Hurricane Hunters Investigate Generation of Humberto
A crew from the US Air Force Weather Reconnaissance Squadron known as the Hurricane Hunters flew through Tropical Depression Nine on Friday, September 13, as it strengthened into Tropical Storm Humberto.
The National Hurricane Center said late on September 14 that Humberto was expected to become a hurricane the following day.
The storm was moving north-northwest away from the Bahamas on September 15, after bringing rain and strong winds to the hurricane-ravaged archipelago.
