Air fryers, Air fryer ovens sold at Best Buy recalled
(WHTM) – Thousands of air fryers and air fryer ovens sold at Best Buy stores nationwide are being recalled due to fire, burn, and laceration hazards.
According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, approximately 187,400 Insignia® Air Fryers and Air Fryer Ovens sold in the United States and nearly 100,000 more sold in Canada are affected by the recall.
The UCPSC says the devices can overheat, causing the handles or glass door to break or melt. There have been 24 reports of “overheating/melting or glass shattering, including six reports of air fryers catching on fire.”
Customers should check the model number on the underside of the unit for the following numbers: NS-AF34D2, NS-AF5DSS2, NS-AF5MSS2, NS-AF8DBD2, NS-AF10DBK2, and NS-AF10DSS2.
Anyone with these devices should immediately stop using them and contact the company for a refund or Best Buy credit.
Best Buy can be contacted by calling 800-566-7498 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT Monday through Friday or by visiting their online recall website.
Customers should not return the devices to Best Buy stores.
