The 142nd Wing out of the Portland Air National Guard Base will conduct flyovers Saturday for Veterans Day ceremonies throughout Oregon and Washington.

The F-15 Eagle fighter jet flyover in Salem is scheduled for around 11 a.m., to coincide with the Oregon Department of Veterans Affairs ceremony at the Oregon State Capitol Park on Court Street NE.

The pass will be about 1,000 feet above ground level at about 400 mph, the Air National Guard said. Flights could be canceled or times changed due to inclement weather or operational contingencies.

"We're extremely proud of our Pacific Northwest veterans and relish the opportunity to celebrate their service to our country," 123rd Fighter Squadron Commander Lt. Col. Jonathan Friedman said in a prepared statement. "Hopefully everyone enjoys the sound of freedom from our F-15 Eagles."
