Air pollution cuts life expectancy by 2+ years: study

That's according to a new study

by the University of Chicago

which said the impact is

comparable to smoking

and worse than HIV/AIDS or terrorism

More than 97% of

the world's population

live with air pollution

that exceeds recommended levels

The study used satellite data

to measure levels of PM2.5

and warns air pollution has been

neglected as a public health issue
