One dead after Tuesday morning crash at U.S. 27 and I-75 near Weston, FHP says

A Palm Beach Gardens man died Tuesday morning in a crash at the intersection of Interstate 75 and U.S. 27 in Broward County, Florida Highway Patrol said.

The man was 67. An 88-year-old woman in the passenger seat suffered serious injuries. Neither was named, as per FHP’s policy.

FHP said as the SUV driver exited I-75 north for U.S. 27 north, “failed to observe all traffic while crossing across the northbound lanes of travel.”

The SUV’s left side hit the right front of a tractor-trailer That sent both vehicles off the road, the SUV spinning, rolling and winding up in the median of U.S. 27 and facing southeast.

After the 7:25 a.m. crash, BSO Fire Rescue flew one the driver to Broward Health and drove the woman there. The exit and highways there were closed Tuesday morning for the cleanup and investigation.
