New airline at Memphis International Airport to offer nonstops to Pittsburgh, Austin
An airline new to Memphis International Airport will offer nonstop flights from Memphis to Pittsburgh and Austin, Texas, starting later this year, the airport announced Wednesday.
On June 25, Via Airlines will launch its Memphis service to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and Pittsburgh International Airport. The flights will run on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
The Austin-to-Memphis and Memphis-to-Pittsburgh flights depart in the morning, while the Pittsburgh-to-Memphis and Memphis-to-Austin flights depart in the evening.

Pace Cooper, chairman of the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Board of Commissioners, said in a news release the Memphis-to-Pittsburgh nonstop was “a sought-after destination.”
Memphis International Airport lists Via as the only airline to offer nonstop flights between it and Pittsburgh. Allegiant Air also runs a Memphis-to-Austin nonstop flight.
Via is using its 50-seat Embraer ERJ-145 jets for the Memphis service. The Florida airline is the 10th passenger airline to service Memphis International Airport.
“Memphis is a great city, and we’re excited to introduce nonstop service to and from Austin and Pittsburgh,” said Dominic Acevedo, Via Airlines’ vice president of flight operations.
