Airline shows off COVID sanitization process

As some prepare to board flights across the United States for the Thanksgiving holiday, American Airlines has specific cleaning and sanitization protocols in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 on their planes. (Nov. 18)

STEVEN SHATSKY: This is basically the cleaning that takes place in between flights throughout the day. So we're doing things like wiping down seats, wiping down seatbelts and seatbelt buckles.

- American requires you to wear a face covering throughout your entire journey with us. Please ensure that it covers both your nose and mouth at all times.

STEVEN SHATSKY: Part of the additional American Airlines clean commitment is the addition of what we're calling electrostatic fogging of the aircraft. It's an added layer of protection on top of what we're doing onboard the aircraft.
