Airlines may soon start weighing passenger weight to ensure safety on board.
- Well, the next time you catch a flight, you might be required to step on the scale at the airport or share how much you weigh before boarding. A new report says the data airlines use to measure passenger weight to ensure safety on board may be outdated as the obesity rate in the US increases. Under the pending requirements, airlines would be required to take surveys to set a standard average passenger weight. And through random sampling, would select passengers to participate. The survey would be completely voluntary so selected passengers could and maybe would decline to participate.
