The Sacramento International Airport is continuing its partial remodel of its baggage systems in Terminal B ahead of Thanksgiving.

On Nov. 8, Terminal B will undergo a “mini makeover” to improve baggage systems which will change ticketing counters for some travelers, according to a Monday post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“The change out of the baggage handling infrastructure has been underway for roughly eight months and is projected to be finished in July 2024,” said airport spokesman Scott Johnston in an email.

The construction will temporarily shift Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, JetBlue and Volaris to a new ticketing counter, according to the Monday post. However, Sacramento airport personnel is reassuring travelers that the check-in process will continue to be seamless as it continues construction.

“The baggage handling system project should not disrupt travel,” Johnston said. “But the check-in location for travelers will change periodically from one ticket counter to another as portions of the baggage handling system are updated.”
